A Breathe Of Fresh Air In The Senate

If you’ve visited my blog a few times, you’ll know that I’ve said wonderful things about Senator John Cornyn. In fact, I posted some links to his audio a few days ago. Why would I do that? Because he isn’t a politician that is going along with status quo in Washington. He’s demanding answers on every bill that he’s asked to vote for and he is doing that to protect his constituent’s interest. He’s even writing and co-sponsoring bills with Texans best interest at heart.

He took on the global warming mafia inside the Senate a few times. The bill they asked him to vote on would have done grave damage to the US economy but more importantly it would have hit Texas hard. I don’t know about you, but I sleep better at night knowing we have someone in the Senate fighting the good fight constantly for the good of our state. Now days you see a lot of politicians throwing their constituents under the bus for the sake of what’s good for them politically and not their constituents. You see a lot of them are just voting status quo and not voting with their state’s best interest at heart.

Senator John Cornyn has represented his state in a excellent manner. If your in Texas, I’d encourage you to subscribe to his newsletter. I’m even willing to send you old copies of his newsletter if you’d like. It definitely shows how hard he works for us (Texans) on Capitol Hill. As a military veteran, I see him all over the place working with others on Capital Hill to put his best foot forward on veteran issues. He’s impressed me and I’m sure once you’ve seen how hard he’s working for you, you’ll be impressed too!

You just can’t get that kind of public service from just anybody. You need someone as motivated as Senator Cornyn. I’ve called him a superstar in the Senate and he’s every bit of that.

When the Boxer climate tax came out, he jumped up to the microphone and preceded to poke holes in their bill pointing out the significant increases in oil for gas and heating our homes. He also pointed out there is a great big world out there and they had no intention on doing their part so why should we single-handedly foot the bill to fix man-made global warming (If it exists). He also brought out the facts that the bill would increase unemployment significantly in the state of Texas alone. He fought diligently and helped shoot down the bill which would have costs us dearly. All together that bill was supposed to drain American taxpayers of 7.6 Trillion dollars. Senator Cornyn remains loyal to the people who brought him to the dance.

THAT, my friends is a breathe of fresh air in the stale air of US politics in 2008.
